About this vehicle
The 2027 Hyundai Kona SEL Sport provides family-friendly versatility with a comfortable rear seat, easy car-seat installation, and ample cargo flexibility for school runs or weekend outings. Atlas White exterior and Black interior bring a modern, practical look that fits seamlessly into daily family life. Parents seeking a small SUV that adapts to busy schedules will appreciate this model’s balance of maneuverability and interior comfort. The rear seat supports LATCH-equipped child seats, while the split folding seatback easily expands cargo capacity for everything from sports gear to bulk shopping trips. In the Lakeland, FL region, the Kona’s easy handling and efficient air conditioning help keep both kids and parents comfortable in year-round heat and humidity. This SUV is especially well-suited for families with elementary or middle-school children who need dependable transportation for daily commutes, after-school activities, and the occasional family road trip. A 2.0L I4 DOHC 16V engine paired with a CVT transmission delivers smooth, predictable acceleration that’s ideal for merging onto highways or navigating stop-and-go school zones. The front-wheel drive layout ensures steady traction in most conditions, and its compact size helps reduce driver stress when maneuvering in busy parking lots or tight neighborhoods. With EPA ratings of 28 MPG city and 35 MPG highway, families can enjoy longer drives with fewer fuel stops, making this SUV a smart option for weekend getaways or extended trips to visit relatives. Peace of mind comes standard with a suite of active safety features designed to protect what matters most. The Kona SEL Sport is equipped with dual front impact and side airbags, overhead airbags, and an occupant sensing airbag system, providing coverage throughout the cabin. The LATCH system supports secure child-seat installation, while ABS brakes, electronic stability control, and traction control help maintain control during sudden stops or slippery conditions. With rear parking camera and auto high-beam headlights, parents can back out of driveways and navigate nighttime driving with added confidence. The rear seat center armrest and rear window defroster further support comfort and visibility for all passengers. This SUV includes heated front bucket seats for comfort on chilly mornings, a leather steering wheel, dual-zone automatic temperature control, and an AM/FM/SiriusXM/HD audio system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless smartphone connectivity. Remote keyless entry and power windows simplify getting in and out with kids and bags in tow. Compared to other small SUVs like the Honda HR-V and Toyota Corolla Cross, the Kona SEL Sport stands out with its combination of heated seats, standard advanced smartphone integration, and comfort-focused features rarely found at this price point. Can this SUV fit a car seat and a stroller at the same time? Yes, the rear seats support secure LATCH child seat installation, and the split-folding rear seatbacks allow the cargo area to handle a stroller along with groceries or sports gear. Is it safe for new or teen drivers in the family? Active safety features like electronic stability control, ABS brakes, and multiple airbags provide reassurance for all ages.
